Happy day, y’all.
I’m in the midst of writing Soulwood book #6. It’s slow going at this point because I’m at the plotline point where all the characters have to be in the right place, at the right time, with the right tools to make the scenes work. Monday I finished the first of the last three fight scenes, and Tuesday (7-19) took the afternoon off and went to kayak. It was pure bliss. But back to the fight scene. Of course, the bad guys have to be something other than what my characters expect, something different, and have other strengths and weapons my characters didn’t plan for. And things have to go against the good guys. I plan to be done with this book by August 1. So I have to finish his week in order to have time to go back and fix all the stuff I messed up on. I am carefully NOT looking at the calendar and NOT counting down the days. (liar liar pants on fire)
Annnnd… Bad News. Due to problems beyond my control, the audio of FINAL HEIR will not be a simultaneous release with the paper, kindle, and e-book versions.
Audible will not be releasing FINAL HEIR until sometime in October.
There have been so many problems with this final book, that I am not surprised at this last dreadful snafu. And please understand, there is nothing anyone can do. This cannot be fixed. So I am asking you simply grieve this latest problem with me, and do not organize or try to get it fixed for me. Because I know my fans. You would turn over heaven and hell to get your ears on the audio! Please do not mass and gather for me! No amount of emails or complaints to anyone in any company can fix this. It is what it is.
That said, this is one thing that you can do to help me. Anywhere you see a fan on social media asking about the audio for the book or even fussing at me as if I had any control over this, please tell them something like this: “FINAL HEIR on audio will be released in October due to events beyond Faith’s control. Audible is charge. Faith has no control over release dates.”
That is the best I can do.
