Hi All!

I guess you know by now that the eBook novella JUNKYARD BARGAIN is out, right?

Sometimes before you can face your enemies—you need to confront yourself.

Time is running out for Shining Smith and her crew to gather the weapons they need to rescue one of their own. But will they even make it to the ultimate battle? First, they’ll need to hit the road to Charleston—a hell ride full of bandits, sex slavers, corrupt lawmen, and criminal bike gangs looking to move in on Shining’s territory.

Shining’s human allies will do anything to protect her—because they must. But will victory be worth it if she must compel more and more people to do her bidding? And will her feline warriors, the junkyard cats, remain loyal and risk their lives? Or are they just in it for the kibble?

If this is fresh news, go and check it out. And if you like it, review it, pretty please???

Also —

There was a great question on my personal FB page this morning and I thought I’d add a bit to my answer

“What is the word count on your stories?”

Honestly, that changes with genre, and also sometimes with the publisher.

For instance, an epic fantasy novel by most any writer might run 140K words and up! I don’t write epic, but I have a few novels that topped out above 140K words. So, for me, unless an editor is specific about total words, mine run in the vicinity of 100K to 140K. Why do I top out there? Because bookstore chains want books to have specific dimensions to go on their shelves in specific genre areas of the stores. Yes. Shelf size is a consideration. So the ‘rule of thumb’ for me is —

Vignette = 1K to 4K

Short story = 4K to 10K

Novelette = 10K to 25K

Novella = 25K to 45K

Novel = 100K and up

Most of my fantasy novellas run 25K to 30K, and my SciFi novellas (like Junkyard Cats series) and with indie or traditional presses, large or small, the word count will make a big difference to the price because the publisher (whoever that is) has to get back the money spent on editing, as well as PR and other expenses involved.

Drink tea, and share peace!
