Amnesia

Amnesia is a nasty business. For me it strikes when I am doped up on benadryl and mucenex and Tylenol and such like. I just don’t feel like blogging. I feel like curling up with a heating pad and and hot toddy and the dogs and the TV remote. But day before yesterday I crossed some line in the head cold sand and the old brain is back.
Yesterday was very satisfying! I bought the rest of the blocks for the front terraces–they will be delivered tomorrow. I’ll start the foundations that very day. Whoowhoo!
And the hubby and I took Rocky Creek. Twice. We went a couple weeks ago, but that trip is pretty much a blur. I was doped up on too much meds to really pay attention. This trip was lovely! The redbuds and the wild jasmine (the jasmine dosen’t have much of a smell around here, not like in Charleston where it smells heavenly all May and June, but it is pretty!) are blooming, and the birds are starting to flirt, court, mate, and build nests. Two Great Gray Herons are building a nest on the shore near the shoals.
Oh! We saw this *huge* snapping turtle trying to get up on a rock to sun. He got his upper body and front feet out of the water, and streeeeeetched out his neck to grab a sapling growing between the rocks. But he kept falling back into the water. Poor baby. If he had swum over three feet, he could have crawled out on the same rock at a nearly level spot. That has to be metaphor for something in my life.
Hugs, y’all!
Faith

My great gramma (the crazy one) used to make cooter stew with them. I’m pretty sure she was crazy long before that, tho…
Chrystal, my mom dog, hates snappers. Don’t blame her, one took a decent chunk from her thigh when she was on a retrieve. They are nasty creatures!
Except for the nice STUFFED one in the undergrad zoo lab.
Thanks Tyhitia! Hey. Does anyone every call you Ty? I think that’s a tough, moxy-filled name and … I might steal it for a character some day…
Hope you feel better.
Good luck with building the terraces.
