Skulls and Other Cool Stuff

The hubby and new buddy went paddling yesterday on Rocky Creek, about 40 minutes away. I was terribly jealous, but at the same time, I have been needing some *alone in the house time* and it was wonderful! I steamed the writing room carpet (the adopted Poms had made it kindy icky as we worked on house training,) washed clothes, and cleaned the bathroom. I call it nesting, and it clears my head for writing or, in this case, rewriting. I need a cool head to pull all the strands together for this book. It has sooo many plot lines!

A friend sent me some skulls. The hubby is still aghast, which I find amusing. Having worked in a lab for years, I’ve seen so many more weird things than skulls, and coveted them, let me tell you! And now I have a cat skull, dog and fox skulls, and one…well, it’s too big to be dog (though it looks dog-like) and it’s only a partial, so I can’t really tell what species it is, but I’m calling it my wolf skull. Yep, that’s my call!

And the fossil she sent is tooo cool! It’s flat, gray, with fern leaves on both sides. Perfect! I’ve ordered a baker’s rack to display the orchids and the skulls and other cool stuff. When I get it all put together I’ll try to take a pic and put it up here.

Meanwhile, Mercy Blade is *getting close* to being ready to be sent to my editor. But the pink elephant (my word for the deadline) is growing and it’s hard to stay calm as it expands!
Hugs,
Faith

About The Author

Faith
A native of Louisiana, Faith spent her early years on the bayou and rivers, learning survival skills and the womanly arts. She liked horses, dogs, fishing and crabbing much better than girly skills. Still does. A love of history and ancient writings excite her even more, perhaps because she can trace her own family tree back to William the Conqueror's invasion of England in 1066, later to Sehoy III, an American Indian princess, and to the gens de couleur libre, the free men of color in New Orleans at the time of the War Between the States. As a girl, she fell in love with fantasy and sifi, reading five books a week, and wishing she, "could write that great stuff." Teachers in high school convinced her she could, and she's been writing ever since, with a desire to see ultimate good fight and defeat ultimate evil, and humans as part of the battle. Faith now shares her life with her Renaissance Man (Ren) and their dogs.

I stuck a pin in her once. She made awful farting noises as she flew around the room.

Have you considered a nice, sharp, hat pin for the incredibly expanding pink elephant.

It may just be filled with hot air…

Then again if it’s filled with pink poo.

    Never mind.
