Deadlines and a Snippet

This is crunch time for Mercy Blade. Two weeks and the book is due. (Covers head with pillow and screams.) The deadline is like a huge pink elephant in the corner, trumpeting every time I take a break, dropping big pink piles of poopoo, eating me out of house and home. Sigh…
So, it is snippet time. Today’s current favorite lines?
Old blood never turned a sane vamp on, smelling like death, like leftovers spoiled in the fridge, but the predator in them might make them take a closer look at my wounds. No need to give them a reason to have to defend myself.
That’s all I got people.
Hugs,
Faith

Thank you Antonio. Good Amazon (and B&N) reviews make *such* a difference in a writer’s career.
And no — I never got mad at a Delores. I was looking for a Latin-Romance-language based word that would mean sad, grieving, and dolore fit best. Hmmm. No offence to all the Dolores out there!!!!
Loved Blood Cross. Finished it last week. I liked it even better than Skinwalker. I popped on over to Amazon and left a review(I shamelessly dropped Ms. Charlaine Harris’s name, and her quote from her blog about Jane/Skinwalker).
Just wonderin’ : Did you ever cross paths with a Dolore, or a Dolores that got under your skin? Pulled your pig-tails on the playground? Tried to steal your boyfriend? Maybe a mother-in-law that wouldn’t stop criticizing your cooking? (Grin) Be good…
Actually, the street *is* Harrison, just one of the lovely accidents of reality!
Hiya Faith!!! LOVED Blood Cross!!! Woot! I dug the reference to Ms. Kim, too! (Harrison Avenue?! Love!!) Although I think I ruined it for Kim – ooooopps!
Can’t wait for Mercy Blade – I’m SO excited! Keep rockin! Judi in NJ
