Yesterday and a Mercy Blade Snippet

Yesterday disappeared in a wash of words and a satisfying page count. I wrote 10 pages in Mercy Blade (book 3 in the JY series) and just never got here! So here I am on a Sunday, wondering what I can say. I mean, it isn’t like anything interesting is happening in my life. Except for the writing.

So I thought I’d share yesterday’s favorite lines from Mercy Blade.

I walked to Bitsa, took out three handguns and belted two into a special holster at the small of my back. I checked the loads on them all, chambering silvershot rounds. I slid two knives into my waistband. I could have called for backup, either Derek Lee or the cops. I didn’t. I did slide a pair of brass knuckles over my right fingers. I had never used brass knuckles, but right now, they felt pretty good.

I took a breath, studying the door locks. Settled my grip on the H&K nine mil in my left fist, though I was a far better shot with my right. I’d be up close. Aiming wasn’t going to be important. And I’d need the power behind my right hook. I wanted to wound, not kill. I strode up to room 114. Drawing up Beast, letting her flood my system. Unleashing just a bit of my fury.

Hope you like!
Hugs,
Faith

About The Author

Faith
A native of Louisiana, Faith spent her early years on the bayou and rivers, learning survival skills and the womanly arts. She liked horses, dogs, fishing and crabbing much better than girly skills. Still does. A love of history and ancient writings excite her even more, perhaps because she can trace her own family tree back to William the Conqueror's invasion of England in 1066, later to Sehoy III, an American Indian princess, and to the gens de couleur libre, the free men of color in New Orleans at the time of the War Between the States. As a girl, she fell in love with fantasy and sifi, reading five books a week, and wishing she, "could write that great stuff." Teachers in high school convinced her she could, and she's been writing ever since, with a desire to see ultimate good fight and defeat ultimate evil, and humans as part of the battle. Faith now shares her life with her Renaissance Man (Ren) and their dogs.

Sounds like a great day to me. I’ll pack the picnic and a cooler of beer, a couple of good cigars, and we’ll head into the hills. I have a new bag of books to stuff in saddle bags too!

Ahh one of my favorite web pages to escape to when the weeks been rough..Id like nothing more than to grab a few hand guns, a pair of brass knuckles, and maybe instead of jumpin on a bike I’ll grab my horse North, a Percheron and go for a looooong ride..Take Blood Cross to read, and a few other things and hide out in the mountains…Yep, sounds like a plan..No cell signal, no internet access..Ahh heaven…I gotta say tho I can not wait for Mercy Blade….
    Happy writing Faith!!!!
