No Water

There’s no water release today by the local dam, so we can’t go paddling. In paddler parlance that means there’s no dam water in the dam fed river. Paddling humor. And once again it’s overcast, which (if I am honest) is my very favorite kind of day. Not so before the 10 year drought, or when I was a kid and wanted to play outdoors, but now it means something entirely different. Life of the planet. Future of the human race. And a great writing day or day for reading.
I am deeply into Jane Yellowrock’s world, and it’s moving a bit slower than I expected. When one writes a series, there is a lot of necessary info to remind old readers about, and to tell new readers — things that feel like info-dumps unless handled properly. So I have 20 pages, and spent yesterday getting ready to write today’s action scene. I’m ready. Jane is ready.
Hugs,
Faith
