Pickup Trucks & Orchids

Not a lot going on here today; it’s raining and overcast, a perfect day to write or even read a good book. We took my truck to Tire King for new tires. Yes, I drive a pickup truck. It started back when I had horses and restored furniture for extra income (to pay for the horses!) I was always hauling something around, and years after I gave up horses and furniture, I still like to have hauling space. So for me it’s always been driving a station-wagon or a truck, always practical. Nothing sexy for me!

And sadly, yesterday I noticed that the blooms on one of my orchids are finally wilting, getting ready to fall off. Miz Kim gave me my very first orchid and I fell in love with them! This one has been in bloom (white and raspberry colored flowers)  continuously for 10 months (a record for me!) with several bloom shoots. Very pretty orchid! I lost 3 orchid plants over the last year and only have 3 left, so I’ll be buying orchids soon! I really like to have 6 at all times which assures me of always having something in bloom, even in the deepest winter But I’m not too sad, as one of the other 3 has put out a bloom shoot and has 5 buds on it so far! I forgot what color it is, so I am all excited to see!

I’ll be writing in the next few minutes, diving into Jane’s world. Already things have happened that I didn’t expect, some good and some … different.  More snippets this week.
