News of the Week

I haven’t posted since last Thursday morning for a lot of reasons, but the primary one is that I was beaten to a pulp by the whitewater center. I have taken the Upper Pigeon at 2,000 CFS with no problems. *None!* And I can’t make it down the bunny slope (instruction channel) of the whitewater center without swimming. I have the left knee of a 12 year-old-kid, blisters on my left hand, abrasions, bruises, swollen places, and not one photo. And when I got home I broke my little toe. And I had to set it, fast, before the pain hit. Which took three times. Sigh… It was one-a-them-days. But I am doing well, and dad came through surgery yesterday with flying colors, and I have a boot for my foot, and I am working on page proofs for Blood Cross. So it’s all good, you know? It’s all good.
Hugs,
Faith

About The Author

Faith
A native of Louisiana, Faith spent her early years on the bayou and rivers, learning survival skills and the womanly arts. She liked horses, dogs, fishing and crabbing much better than girly skills. Still does. A love of history and ancient writings excite her even more, perhaps because she can trace her own family tree back to William the Conqueror's invasion of England in 1066, later to Sehoy III, an American Indian princess, and to the gens de couleur libre, the free men of color in New Orleans at the time of the War Between the States. As a girl, she fell in love with fantasy and sifi, reading five books a week, and wishing she, "could write that great stuff." Teachers in high school convinced her she could, and she's been writing ever since, with a desire to see ultimate good fight and defeat ultimate evil, and humans as part of the battle. Faith now shares her life with her Renaissance Man (Ren) and their dogs.

    It was … not fun!

Must have something to do with living in the South, lol. I am a northerner born & raised but I took to flops & bare feet just that quick :) I wouldn’t trade NC for Seattle for anything now.

Ouch! Hope it didn’t hurt too much. :)

Well, not brave… The toe was stuck out at a 90 degree angle from the rest of the foot. It was clear it had to be done and the faster the better. But yeah. If I was wearing shoes I’d not have a broken toe.

Set toes?? Hmmm, you ARE brave. I crushed my pinky toe under the edge of a dresser leg *of course I was barefoot* , heard it crack, went & tapped it, went back to moving dresser. Put shoes on to finish moving dresser. Little late by then :) )

No doc will treat a broken toe, unless it is the big toe and you are diabetic. (Or some other medical conditions.) So you may as well set it yourself and hobble along. The worst one for me was when one of my horses got mad at me. He hated having his back feet cleaned, and I had to *really work* to get his back leg up. One day was working on the back left hoof, and he balanced on his two right legs (whick is really weird in the first place), picked up his front leg and very deliberately, while watching me, set his left front foot down on my boot. And applied weight. And twisted. Broke 3 toes. I could swear he was laughing.

Snippet? What? You want a snippet of Blood Cross? Well sure. Why didn’t you ask sooner? (evil grin) This week, then. This week.

Broken toe?? Owie :O I’ve broken a couple over the years & am too cheap to go to the docs office :) Why pay good money just to have them tell you that you are clumsy,eh? I just tape them together & hobble about my business ;)
Any chance that you might snippet Blood Cross? Pleeeeease…pretty pleeease?
