I've noticed that. :D

I'm close to the end and it has occurred to me that Thorn and her fellows aren't mages, they're elves. They're smaller than humans, preternaturally swift, and seem to take longer maturing. I mean, Thorn is such a teenager. I.E., obtuse.

You got me interested in a fictional character! God'll get you for that.

It is a bit of a twisty novel. And yes, Thorn is young and inexperienced and has a lot to learn. But that is what series are for, you know?

Good to hear you and the critters in your life are doing well, all things considered. Hope the tendinitis clears up soon, but be kind to your elbows no matter what.

Now reading Bloodring and enjoying it. Thorn is such a worry wart. And a bit of a inadequately trained arcane klutz. I'm also enjoying the not so subtle references to Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End. Not a simple, straightforward story you've presented here by any measure.

I do wonder, could the tale be one of intervention by God, and an invasion and occupation of Earth by extraterrestrial forces? Seems to me the seraphs and their agents are not being entirely honest about who they work for and their motivations. Or maybe I've just read too much Heinlein, Campbell, and Clarke. :)
