Albino Chicks and Books

If you noticed the pic of the albino chicks in the nest with their normally plumed brother – well the chicks are gone now.  One day all the chicks were there, and the next they were gone, flew the coop, so to speak. But the pics go on (in the album Faith and Nature) and we keep an eye out for the appearance of adult albino birds, but the leafy foliage out back is so thick this spring it’s hard to see birds or other wildlife.

Not seeing or hearing any raptors these days, either. It’s quiet yet. But raptor chicks start screaming for food pretty quickly after they hatch, and I am keeping an ear out. One year we had two nests very close to one another and it was stereo chick-screaming for a month.

Reading: I just finished Vamped by Lucienne Diver (great YA!) and Turn Coat by Jim Butcher. Yawza! What fun!
